Garam masala originates from the port of Bombay. At that time, this port was a highly coveted export hub for certain spices. As a result, it spread widely throughout the country and subsequently among its neighbors.
In the Hindi language, garam means "hot" and Masala means "mixture". If you combine these two meanings, you get "hot spice blend".
According to traditional methods, this mixture of ground spices is obtained by placing it on a slightly concave stone plate in order to crush it using a cylinder of the same material, in tamarind juice. We then obtained a paste ready for use!
